Screenings
Pediatric screenings are for parents with children between the ages of 3 and 18, who are concerned about their child's development but are not sure if they need a full evaluation. Screening are about 30 minutes to an hour of observation and informal testing. A written report will be provided to the parent(s) within a week. This is an easy way to get an expert opinion and guidance on next steps.
Evaluation
An evaluation is a comprehensive analysis of a person's communication abilities. This is used to identify a need for speech therapy. The detail gained from a full evaluation provides the practitioner with the information needed to design a customized treatment plan. Testing typically takes about 2-4 hours and is comprised of standardized tests and informal assessment procedures. Reports are provided about 1-2 weeks after the testing date.
